When you’re running at lower capacity than you’re used to, the question worth sitting with is: where am I tolerating things I wouldn’t consciously choose?
And where can you start realigning your expectations and architecting your life to your lowest energy days, instead of the potential of your highest?
What if right now it’s about pulling yourself off the cross of the impossibly high expectations you had in your twenties and thirties – and just giving yourself space and time to exist and breathe?
Because if you’ve spent all these years building and striving and giving and pushing… the seasons change.
There are seasons for striving, seasons for rest, and seasons where you’re just battening down the hatches and getting through this next bit – and that is the whole job right now.
What I keep saying to all my clients right now – and to myself – is that the only “job,” the only “work” to do, is surrender.
The only objective is to nourish yourself. Because you’re living through the after-effects of years of giving from an empty cup.
Fill the cup first. Then give from overflow.
Surrender.
And expand from there – not from the place you think you “should” be performing from.
Because that’s where the contraction really lies.
Picture of the little critters that gave me my first lesson in giving less fucks is actually the way…
