The most hilarious thing to me is when someone comes back
after the reckoning I warned them about…
(over and over again.)
The times I said
Hey Bro.
You’re out of integrity.
You can’t keep doing what you’re doing.
It’s gunna catch up to you. One day.
I don’t know when. or how. But it will.
And then…
it fucking does.
But then the reckoning itself.
Is so much more profoundly suitable
than I could have imagined.
Mother Nature has this incredible gift
of putting the antidote
right next to the venom.
And so I could never have dreamt up
the particular flavour of comeuppance
life was going to serve you
But I’m here for it.
Yes …
Along with my smug smile that says “I fucking told you so!”
They come in:
Hand in cap.
Puss-in-Boots eyes.
“Please. Show me my blind spots.”
And so…
*dusts knuckles and blows*
I do.
(And you fucking know I do.)
I lay that motherfucking truth down
like a cat proudly bringing a dead rat to its owner.
A rotting carcass of truth…
dressed up like the gift that it is.
Blind spots?
I’m like:
Here. Hold my dead rat.
But then they’re like:
*“Oh… no. Not those blind spots.”**
And now I know how that fucking cat feels.
And by the by. Just to save you coming to the comments for the tea.
This is an amalgamation of a few different stories in particular.
Both male and female.
In biz and in relationships and in life.
Spanning back years. Cheating. Stealing. Betrayal.
And there’s a little voice in me that says
“Wow. Bianca. This isn’t exactly love and light!”
And there’s another part of me that is still just rocking back gleefully and laughing.
That’s the part that can’t help saying
“Suffer in yer jocks”
WHILST ALSO knowing
that at some point I’m going to be schooled
by my own little smug smiled sense of self righteousness.
I’m sure it will wipe this look right off my face.
With my own little delectable dose of antivenom.
And probably that face that delivers it to me
will look exactly like my own daughter tbh
But I think…
It’s because I earnt every bit of that stance of integrity. The hard way.
I get to watch that bitter medicine being served up knowing something has been restored.
None of us are immune to it.
But I’m not going to lie.
I do like the universe serving up a little bit of poetic justice.
