One of my ReSchool Graduates, Mel is living proof it IS possible.
Have you ever started a new diet and thought, “This is it. This is what’s going to change everything!”
You’re enthusiastic and motivated, only to discover two weeks later it’s way harder than you thought and it’s a totally unenjoyable process. Its not long before you find yourself ‘fallen off the bandwagon’.
You think, “Here I am stuck again, not being able to follow through on this promise or this enthusiasm that I set myself up for.”
One week you were excited and elated; then the next – disappointed and defeated. It’s a crushing experience.
You’re not alone in that feeling. One of my ReSchool graduates Mel went through the same thing for close to a decade.
Before Mel started the ReSchool she had tried calorie counting, starving herself and joined weightloss challenges where she was expected to exercise like a demon to the point of being sick and could barely walk the next day.
It was just too much and too hard, leaving Mel feeling like a failure. Like she could never make losing weight happen for her. Then the guilt and shame of failure would begin to consume her.
So she would weigh up the only options she thought she had – starve and be skinny but miserable; or be happy but endure staying fat.
She began to believe that the only way she could lose weight was to sacrifice enjoying life and battle through another difficult diet plan.
Until she found the ReSchool.
Fast forward a few months to where Mel is now, she wrote to me saying, “Hey, I just want to tell you my life is going great. Everything’s going so well… Oh and by the way, I’ve lost 10 kilos”.
How awesome is that?! In fact, she said it was easy and effortless and she wasn’t even focusing on it.
Mel says one of the reasons for her success was that the ReSchool helped her to release feelings of guilt and shame and take the pressure off herself.
“The ReSchool helped me to find a way to incorporate exercise and looking after myself into the life I already had,” so Mel was free to enjoy life and still eat pizza a chocolate too.
Mel was caught by surprise when a good friend said to her “What’s going on? You look great! You have this glow and your face looks slimmer!”
The awesome thing is – Mel lost weight not by struggling or striving, but just by living life!
Wondering how this is even possible? Then you need to listen to Mel’s interview.
